Network Alert Management
Section titled “Network Alert Management”Alerts settings configuration in Meraki provides administrators with control over network-wide alert destinations and per-alert notification routing. Default destinations define where all network alerts are sent, while per-alert overrides allow fine-grained control over which emails, administrators, SNMP traps, or webhooks receive each specific alert type. The muting option suppresses wireless unreachable alerts triggered by port schedules, reducing notification noise during planned maintenance windows.

Examples
Section titled “Examples”Example-1: The example below demonstrates alerts settings configuration.
This configuration enables network-wide default destinations for all admins and SNMP, with port schedule muting set via muting_by_port_schedules: true. Three alert overrides demonstrate the available filter types: gatewayDown scopes notifications to specific access points using filters.devices (referenced by device name); sensorAlert uses filters.conditions to trigger on temperature threshold breaches with direction and duration criteria; and usageAlert scopes to a wireless SSID by name via filters.ssid_name, with period and threshold filters controlling when the alert fires. Device names and SSID names reference other NAC model resources and are automatically resolved to their API identifiers by the Terraform module.
