Object tracking monitors the state of interfaces, IP/IPv6 routes, IP SLA operations, or combinations of other track objects on NX-OS, and publishes an up/down state that first-hop redundancy protocols such as HSRP can react to, for example by decrementing the group priority when an uplink fails. Each track object is identified by a numeric ID and tracks exactly one of: interface line-protocol or IPv4/IPv6 routing state, IPv4 or IPv6 route reachability (optionally for HMM-owned routes and within a VRF), IP SLA reachability or state, or a track list combining multiple objects with boolean (and/or) or threshold (percentage/weight) logic. Optional up and down delays, in seconds or milliseconds, dampen state changes to avoid flapping.
