Service AppQoE Feature

Configure Application Quality of Experience (AppQoE), which redirects service-side traffic to a service node for TCP optimization and Data Redundancy Elimination (DRE). A device is either a forwarder that redirects traffic to service nodes elsewhere, a service node that receives redirected traffic, or both at once on a single box. The device_role picks which, and in doing so selects which of the remaining fields apply. dre enables DRE optimization and is available on every role except forwarder.

Example-1: Service controller redirecting to external service nodes

A router acts purely as a forwarder. It does not optimize traffic itself, it redirects it to one or more external service nodes reachable over a dedicated service VPN.

A router runs both the forwarder and the service node on the same device (no DRE optimization).

Example-4: External service nodes

A dedicated external service node that only receives redirected traffic. Manager fixes the entire service node group for this role, including the virtual port group address, so the feature needs nothing beyond the role itself and resource profile size.
